In terms of standing out, I wouldn't worry too much - obviously blondes will be a small minority but a school which goes to Phase 3 is bound to have quite a number of foreigners

Hello there I'm pretty sure you can only register at one school at any one time in P3 as when you register they actually enter your info into the MoE system- you can change your mind on the day but need to withdraw you application to make a new one. My advice would be to wait as much as possible on ...

Hi Amer Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time on the schooling front. Unfortunately I cannot comment on your eldest, other than to say that unfortunately clementi/ bukit timah have a lot of very good schools (read very popular) which means there are very few places with vacancies.. I'd sugge...

Hi martyrmum, my son has settled quite well in the school thanks. He's coping well with all the subjects, in fact his dad is wondering if he is stretched enough (!). From what I hear, P1 and P2 the pace is relatively slow, but it really starts heating up from P3/P4. He has little homework (perhaps 1...

Hi martyrmum, Just to say we have enrolled our son in P1 last August and he has just started class last week in Queenstown Primary school. The whole process was a little bit stressful I admit, but so far it has worked out ok! One invaluable tool is a website called kiasuparents - once you have regis...

There are about 30 kids per class but the teacher also has an assistant which is great. Principal said 30 pc of students there are foreigners, As...

My little girl goes to a ballet class at joo chiat community centre every Saturday at 9 30. Fantastic teacher, ms Tan, who makes it very fun for the kids. it is also very cheap, and the facilities are great ( for example they have a pianist for every lesson). You may have to wait until your dd is 3 ...

Infant care centre in Bukit Timah area

Hi

Can anyone recommend a baby childcare centre for our little girl (6 months old)? We live in the Bukit Timah area.

Many thanks

Hi Scoobydoes

For your kid next year, one site you might want to take a look at is kiasuparents.com - they have invaluable info on schools, take up rate history etc...

We went to Queenstown primary in the end - waited until the afternoon to see how places were filling up - no ballotting in the end for us, which is a relief - don't think I'd have the nerves to go through this! Funny what you said about Singaporeans registering on Phase 3 - very anti-kiasu... Finger...

Thanks for this - I think we might also go for Queenstown as it has more places - although would prefer Newton as a school!

Best of luck to you in the registration process- hopefully there wont be any ballotting...

Hi metroguy We're also trying to register our son in a local primary school, and are a bit worried about the number of places left for phase 3 this year! Even some of the unpopular schools seem to be filling in very quickly. Have you decided which school you are going to go for tomorrow? Like you, w...
