Why not go to one of the social events like the drinking nights or take up a class and meet people? If what you've been doing so far to meet people isn't working, then at least trying something different may help.

Yeah, you would need to have ***Star JetFlex, StarClass fares or buy the option to get mileage points (Plus or Max bundles) before travel to get points on Qantas' FF program. Also, only on Qantas, not on any of the OneWorld partners.

To add to carteki's comments, my recent experience is as carteki stated, although if you ask nicely, at the airport they can be persuaded to hold onto your passport a short time so you can go to the ATM and come back to complete the visa on arrival process. Best that you have $25 at hand before land...

I'd say that Sim Lim has the occasional deal, but frankly, keep your wits about you when you go there and bring a friend, especially if you have a local friend it can help. Otherwise, I'd say you're better off going to Funan or catching a decent IT show like Comex, or one inside of Singapore Expo, S...
