A final plea guys. The dog has until Monday apparently. The abandoned pet facilities in Singapore are of course very crowded, so I think the dog may be put down unless someone takes him. I know its a long-shot, but if anyone wants a potentially great animal friend, and has the patience and time to m...

The dog was definately no a wild one. It looked well fed, and like it had been a pet. The good news is that I confirmed with the SPCA that they have it. They will spend the next few days advertising it as a lost dog. They have assured me they will not kill it and that they will contact me if they ca...

By pure coincidence, this is the puppy of the type of dog that was abandoned and now needs a home.

The one in Singapore is the adult version of this I think.

Ha ha - like those rich mainlanders you mean? Nah, not me. I prefer to borrow and leverage anyhow.

So, any suggestions about a more remote place, more in the countryside area, near One North/Biopolis?

Another thought. How feasible would be to live somewhere isolated, perhaps by the airport, but then just get a car to drive around. If its nice and peaceful out there, and good for kids and a dog etc, is that a good option? What could you get in such an area for 2-3 mil? Merry Christmas to you chie...

I would love to take him, but I have not yet moved here. I am here now apartment for next year. I also travel frequently. I can offer to walk him and visit him if someone does take him. I posted this in the hope that some one out there might just be looking, and would consider him. The look in his e...

Can anyone in Singapore please help this poor dog?

Guys, I just saw the saddest thing. A poor dog was abandoned, terribly scared and shivering with fear, and a dog catcher came with one of those sticks with a rope and put it around his neck and dragged the poor thing into a cage. The dog catcher was from the SPCA, so I presume the dog is there now. ...

Well 1500 is still pretty pricy! But I will consider it. Can you provide any specific suggestions?

I looked at buying the new SoHo apartments in Singapore today. 3000+ per square foot. Crazy prices.

That is extremely expensive. If you look at some nice places in Hong Kong where I live, the places are around 1000 to 1500 per square foot (if you measure in Sing dollars). And these are apartments in Hong Kong for expats: http://parkislandhongkong.blogspot.com/2011/12/nice-park-island-apartment-for...

No problem at all!

Banks are usually willing to lend up to 80% on a first purchase. Rates are low at around 2%.

But the Govt just introduced a stamp duty of 13% on the purchase of a property. Which kind of throws a spanner in the works :(

Thanks -apart from the luxury market, how about older style places in nice areas such as near the bottanical gardens. Places that have a nice layout, higher cielings, but are a little outdated inside in terms of furnishings, etc? Some are around 1800 per square foot. That seems quite high to me!

Meanwhile, in HK, the Govt has hinted as easing cooling measures. So, guess where the hot money is going to flow in the short term.... Where I live (Park Island, HK) and am about to move from, the agents are already noticeably busier as buyers in HK are starting to take a renewed interest in anticip...
