Hi Mrsk

Have you decide on a school yet? How old is your child/children? My 5 year old and I are heading out to Sing tomorrow for a week. We are visiting various schools and looking at apartments. We are visiting Dover Court, Chatsworth, Nexus and OFS. We couldn't get an appointment to visit Tanglin for nex...

Hello Veronica VanE

Nuns, I hope not :-) Similar situation in our area with good school, my daughters school felt right for her and it meant that there was no need for a long bus journey at such a young age. My 5 year old and I are heading out to Sing tomorrow for a week. We are visiting various schools and looking at ...

Yeah, so hard to know what's what really! I can't get my head around the distances, I think it's an hour or so from one side of the island to the other. I had a look on some bus route planner (I can't remember what it was called) and some of the journeys seemed to take a long time in relevance to th...

Hi Veronica VanE Thank you for such a useful post. My daughters are much younger, 5 & 1, the eldest attends a single sex, independent school, she has only been there for 2 years but is thriving in the environment. Have either of your children attended co-ed schools in the past? I wonder how my littl...

Hi MrsK, Sorry I don't have an answer to your post. We did wonder the same thing. I am travelling out to Singapore for a visit next week so hope to view a few school. I have contacted Tanglin & Chatsworth they have long waiting lists so not much chance of getting a place for the new school year. It'...

using public transport & life without a car

Hi My husband is in Singapore at the moment, he is in a serviced apartment, doesn't have far to travel to work and has only good things to say about the MRT. We are moving from London so in comparison the public transport in Singapore is a dream. I am moving out with in the summer with our 2 childre...

Thanks for that.
There are so many things to organise for the big move. I would like try and keep stress levels as low as possible but not sure how realistic that is :-)

International Shipping Agent

Hi,

We are moving from London to Singapore in the summer. Has anyone got a shipping company they could recommend? I have looked online for companies but haven't decided on anyone yet. I would like to hear from anyone with personal experience, good or bad.

Thank you

Hi MTM, Thanks for that, I will check those places out. I think deep down I know that it will be too humid and a pain to walk as I will have a buggy, 1 year old , micro-scooter and 5 year old (who will probably complaining about the heat) in tow :-) It would be nice to have it as an option but we wi...

Hi Andream & Pammy210, I haven't been on here for a while. Yes, my daughter would start year 1 in August. My husband is in Sg now and I am travelling out there in 2 weeks time for a quick look around. Has anyone looked at properties near by? Any suggestions? We will not have a car and ideally I woul...

Hi,

aman kaur bhullar I am very interested to hear what you think of the schools. How old is your child/children?

I think it's hard to know until you have been to the school to look around and only you know what is best suited to your kids.

Hi Leaving London, Your situations sounds pretty similar to ours. We have 2 daughters the eldest is 5 so will start Year 1 in September and we have a 5 month old also. I hope to go out to Singapore at Easter to have look at the schools and places to live. It's quite hard making such big decisions fr...

Dover Court

Hi, I would also love to hear from anyone with children who attend Dover Court. My daughter attends a nice independent school in London. My husband would go out to Singapore first and we hope to join him at the end of the school year (July). So my daughter would start year 1 in September. Any person...
