Just to update - rang IRAS and they said to pop in with whatever salary forms and details I had. The next day my company sent me a copy of the IR21 they 'just' filed, so I took that in too. The IRAS employee was a very nice guy. He didn't seem impressed with the company, but understood the situation...

Your company notifies IRAS that you're leaving when they file the IR-21. IRAS will take the data on your IR-21 (money earned, and money being withheld) to calculate either A) what you still owe, or B) what your company should return to you out of your withholdings. I understand the process they're ...

IR21 not filed by my company, due to leave SG, issues?

Hi, I've just been informed about a potential issue with leaving my company (and Singapore). They mentioned IR21 and on reading the IRAS portal it seems it is something the company is supposed to sort out when I gave them my notice, but I don't think they did. My guess is that they did not do this o...

Geek Apparel Shops?

I'm kinda missing my geek/nerd t-shirts/apparel. Anyone know any local shops in Singapore (not online) that stock that type of stuff?

Thanks :)

My English for your Thai

I have a few friends in Thailand and I spend the occasional weekend there being so close now, so thought it would be a good idea to improve on the very basic words that I picked up.

Living in Woodlands at the moment but don't mind traveling.

Khob khun krap :)

Since swapping to Firefox I've had no trouble at all! I've not been logged out once.

Wonder what was causing issues with Chrome?

Clearing cookies didn't help :( I logged in this morning, left for work, came back, refreshed the page and it asked me to login again.

Unfortunately I don't think it's the same issue. I stay logged in for a while, usually a few hours, but then come back to find I'm not logged in anymore. So if I'm gone for say 12 hours, when I come back to "view new posts since last visit" I'm not logged in, and once logged in it treats all posts a...

Keep getting logged out

Hi,

I keep getting logged out even though I tick the box to automatically log me in each time I visit.

Using latest Chrome on a Mac. Anyone have any idea what might cause it?

Thanks!

£2000/m after tax in the UK is more like S$5100/m with the difference in tax (if you were to get the same gross salary), but I found when moving jobs that they didn't really take into account my UK salary, and it was more based on what they could hire for locally (which in my case was about £8000/y ...

Alternatively, ..com.sg - despite it saying "FREE" you have to pay to actually use it, but it costs much less than an agent. I'm using . at the moment to look for short term accommodation, and I haven't paid anything to use the site yet. It's not bad if people use it correctly, and I've found some ...

Out of curiosity (I'd like to join one of these when I get to SG), how much do people usually spend on a Friday night? I imagine it'll vary per person, but any ballpark figures?

Everyone keeps telling me beer is ridiculously expensive so want to see if a night out is feasible :)

Thanks.
