Another aussie expat in Singapore behaving badly?

I guess it's probably due to the country's convict ancestry background. How many more generations before the bad genes get flushed out?

new zealand earthquakes - advice from Kiwis please

I've booked a trip to New Zealand (flying into Christchurch and exploring the south island). I'll be there with my sister's family and her kids. We didn't think too much about this beforehand but after doing more research, it seems like New Zealand is very earthquake prone and quakes have become mor...

I am currently paying $5K for a CBD one bedder (700 sq ft). If I move to Geylang, I can get a smaller one (450 sq ft) for $2.8K. For under 3K, what are the other areas/ properties I should look at? I prefer to be within 5-6 MRT stops from Raffles Place, and my apartment should be within 5-10 minutes...

Living in Geylang

I currently live in the CBD area but I am looking to move out of town - mainly to save $$$. I am thinking of moving to a condo around Lorong 25 Geylang which will cut my rent by half. I've heard a lot of bad things about Geylang but Lorong 25 seems ok. Has anyone lived in that area and is it that ba...

Going with parents for a vacation in Asia - where?

I am thinking of bringing my parents for a vacation this year end. They've been to places like HK, Malaysia and Bangkok. I can't really think of any suitable places. They are not very active people (so no hiking / diving etc), and they like good food, nice shopping and sightseeing. They also prefer ...

They're expensive yes thanks. any other (more helpful) comments? I put just as much effort into my answer as you did your question. Try asking something more specific next time :) specifically, is there construction noise at night at the icon? i heard different answers..some agents say no, some say...

Do you currently live on a building site within 5 minutes walk of work, and if not why are you looking to pay a premium to do so in SG? There are a lot nicer places you could live than those you have mentioned, if you are willing or able to live an additional 10-15 minutes commute away from the off...

You might want to read your contract carefully. Most of those that give the ability to pay salary in lieu are contingent on both parties being agreeable to the "in lieu of". Of course, if your boss is being an a** about it, it might be because of the fact that you are going to work for a competitor...

You have to work out your month's notice, unless your employer releases you from this contractual obligation. And telling your new place you need three weeks off 'to relax' is hardly going to make the greatest of first impressions is it! If you figured you could quit the current job, walk out the s...
