But we travel a lot and would prefer that when we are not in Singapore, the maid stays at a 'hostel' where we can organise for boarding and lodging facilities for a fee. If I dont own a car, is it necessary to stay near an MRT for easy commute? Or are buses as reliable as well? If I need to come from the East to the Centre - can I rely on buses to get me there quickly and reliably?

But we dont want to be in a completley Indian area as well - which is why we were looking at River Valley, etc - should be a healthy mix, no?

We are moving to Spore in March and want to live in an area which has a large Indian family community. Which is better - East (D15) or River Valley? We have looked at and liked condos in both areas... please mention why one is better than the other. Suggestions are most welcome!
