Visit Pass Rejected for In-Laws

I asked my PR friend to use his SingPass and apply for Visit Pass for my In-Laws (Mom, Dad and Brother) to visit Singapore for a week. The pass was approved for the Brother (Univ student), but rejected for parents (Banker and Housewife, early 50s).

Anyone heard of this?

Folks... There is a popular opinion among non-Indians... That WE "Indians" hate each other so much that there is no scope of unity in the face of adversity. Let's not take cheap shots at each other and try and leverage this forum for the reason it has been created. My humble 2 cents. Merry X'Mas and...

Thanks again for the insight. Before I posted this question on this forum, I heard almost the same thing from friends who have been in SG for at least 10 years. Again, all of this was word-of-mouth. I stumbled upon this forum, and it seems to me that you are all the only authority on this topic I kn...

Thanks again for your thoughts and observations. I have gathered that I am applying against the worst odds possible... Somehow I think this is better than trying to swim against the tide of trying to live on one person's salary. I will re-post after I get the results (~Jan '13?)

Thanks for the prompt replies. Many employers seem to know about LOC, just not willing to go that route for some weird reason. My wife has landed ~6 jobs so far with no luck in getting SP in spite of having studied in Singapore (Not NUS/NTU/SMU though). I got an appointment only late Sep '12, by whi...
