If you want to watch with Canadian commentary, you can watch online at cbc.ca, I think. That's what I plan to do. Just use a vpn.

I think you need to get the 1 star certification before you can rent single kayaks. At least that's what I have heard at some rental places. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. I'm interested in going kayaking again, so let me know if you want a kayaking buddy
