I miss Mexican food. I ordered some nachos at a "Mexican" restaurant on 6th Ave and they were terrible. Not even close to being Mexican.

Seriously, if anyone wanted to open a real authentic Mexican restaurant here I bet it would do good business.

oh sorry, it wasn't vrbo, it was airbnb. Most of my coworkers and I found places through airbnb. I just hope it is ok when I get there. I really don't want to sign any agreements so I guess I will end up in a hostel instead if the landlord requires a signed tenancy agreement and a security deposit. ...

Tenancy agreement for 4 months?

Is it normal to have to sign a Tenancy agreement when renting a room for just 4 months? The sticky in this forum just suggests they are for leases of a year or more. I'm fine with most language in the agreement, except for the fact they want a whole month rent in security deposit. Seems like too muc...

I'm 28F USA and going to Singapore in a few days too! I found a room to rent on airbnb.com. I hope the room turns out ok, but it is hard to tell since I didn't get to view it in person and I only chose it based on the photos online. If you want to meet up when you arrive let me know! I won't know ma...

Anyone use Charles Schwab as their bank in Singapore?

I'm trying to figure out the best bank to use while I'm in Singapore for 4 months. Has anyone else from the USA had luck using Charles Schwab abroad? It seems too good to be true - no currency conversion fees with their checking account, and the check card should work at ATMs abroad. They say that t...

Relocating in middle of dental problem - who will help me?

I'm supposed to move to Singapore this weekend (for 4.5 months). I am having some dental problems though right now and my endodontist here in the US would like to take a "wait and see" approach to things whereas my dentist here in the US thought I should just extract my tooth now before I leave. The...
