Hmm...generally food meant for fresh/immediate consumption will be healthier I believe..! Because Bak Kwa was originally made to keep for a period of time, hence the high sugar content..? If you all do eat out, perhaps Bak Kut Teh and Chicken Rice without rice would be good local staples to have..? ...

I think I remember seeing places like Fragrance Bak Kwa selling Turkey Bak Kwa during certain festive seasons! (Probably Thanksgiving or Christmas?) They seemed to be pre-packed(a la Slim Jims) and not freshly-made though!
