You may want to consider preparing the Deed Poll; both the original and as well as a notarized copy; just in case. You can get any public notary or lawyer to notarize it.

When dealing with local Singaporeans, completely avoid taking about anything to do with race, religion or politics, even if it is with regards to countries other than Singapore.

There are actually a lot of IT opportunities in Singapore.

If you are willing to do shift work in the IT department of a big bank in Singapore, you can actually do get a salary of up to SGD $6000 to SGD $7000 per month, if you have around 2- 3 years of relevant working experience.

As a senior role in assurance in a Big 4, S$6K to seriously being uderpaid, you should at least ask for twice that amount, without CPF, if you really want to move to Singapore.

Since you have a lot of working experience and highly qualified, I think you can ask for at least SGD $15,000 per month, and also ask for an housing allowance too, for at least another $SGD 3000 per month too.

Working hours are pretty good, from 9 am to 6 pm.

Dear IRE72, 2.5K per month for a 1 bedroom is highway robbery. It is also most likely located in a pricy district, where everything else is expensive. For the same price, you can rent a 5-room flat in areas like Joo Koon, or Punggol. Plus, the cost of living and food would be cheaper in those areas.
