You’re a 1st gen PR, and as such you are not required to do NS. Ergo, NS is not applicable to you.

You choose “exempted” as an option when you’re required to do NS but have been exempted by MINDEF for one reason or another (usually medical).

Do not withdraw and apply again just to try and get a faster approval. For all you know, the new system will take even longer to process your application.

Just because another member here got approval within 6 months doesn’t mean you would too…

We may have "heard" the new system aims to process most PR applications with 6 months but...the system is just not old enough to be able to verify this. We'll know in the next couple of months how true this is. I say "heard" because we are guessing this solely based on the wording on the ICA website...
