Good advice re. deposit adjustment.

Hi,

Am negotiating a lease for a new place and we agreed to a 2 year term, two months deposit, with option to renew for an extra year. Should we decide to opt in for the extra year, do we get one months deposit back from the landlord? Or does the deposit stay as is?

Why? In theory they do the same exact thing. Using unotelly requires a manual configuration on your part (setting a new DNS server on a device or router's DHCPd), along with the occasional authentication. Just curious what you've found better given they should be identical service yet different amo...

Also went with ViewQwest and am happy with their service so far. Good speed, and very little down time. Their Freedom VPN works well, but I prefer to use Unotelly.

I agree. That is why I think it's perfectly ok for us to host a couple of relatives over short period of times. But my Singaporean landlord is looking for a more black and ruling... He is very much "by the book".

@taxico - That is exactly what we are doing presently. Unfortunately, not finding proper rules on this kind of situation on the HDB website and receiving unclear feedback from HDB officers he talked to stress him a bit. Hence my question here, to know whether someone had more info than we do. @sunda...

Thx for the opinion. We rent the whole unit.
We are on very good terms with our landlord and hope to renew the lease when it expires But he's been burned in the past by other tenants who were subletting his unit and received a warning from the HDB board, so he is very cautious with such things.
