Though this is a good move by the Government and commendable but then it is silent on the status of PR's .
There could be PR's who are in the verge of taking citizenship have been contributing everything in and to Singapore than their country of origin .Can anyone clarify this point ?

With the current labour market and rule what are the chances of a Permanent Resident getting a job in Singapore . A PR , lost his job and has been looking for new opportunities . What are the chances of him getting a job in the banking and financial services industry .
