Let me clarify here.... Rents are coming down, yes, from their peaks. No longer the landlords are able to reach newer peaks in their demands ('greed'). There is general increase in cost of living for which I am ready to apportion additional portion of my salary but not for the obscene increases in r...

Still cant understand why people say the demand is greater than the supply... My condo has been half empty the whole last year i have been there. Thats great though, the pool is always quiet :) Its certainly not hard to find a place now, and theres loads of places nearing completion. Exactly, Zjule...

Re: rents falling

i am also looking to rent again now and have found many units available with all asking prices negotiable. Morphic, This is what precisely happened with my friend in my quoted example. In addition to the available units in the existing condos, I am noticing a number of units, in a rough estimate ar...

taikoo, It would seem you are easily swayed. The newspapers all indicate that prices are still rising albeit at a slightly slower pace that last month and they also indicate that they believe the trend will continue to rise for at least the next 6 months. One owner does not a trend make! Good luck....

Thank God, that I read this post. I was about to order something from the US. Now I will think over.

Actually, it took about an hour for me to understand the mechanics of the process. It is really confusing and at the end of it, it may not be cost effective either.

Just an update from me on the episode. - wrote a complaint letter to the Chairman of SLS - within hours got a call from Ms. Stella Lau promising to revert to me with the action taken - revert she did, with an offer that the manager of the sales guy would give me a written apology. - I flatly refused...

Horrible experience in Sim Lim Square

On 29th April I underwent a horrible experience at Royal Plus Pacific Pte Ltd shop on the groung level in Sim Lim Square. I went to buy a Nintendo Wii. The sales person in Royal Plus Pacific Pte Ltd. was not explaining the features but was only answering my basic questions. When I pointed out that a...

drive to Johor Bahru

Intend driving to JB this Friday. What is the straight and easiest way to drive to JB from CTE? How long does it take to reach JB? and what are the attractions that we should not miss in JB (apart from shopping, I mean)? Are there any extra precautions that we need to take while in JB? e.g., parking...

Thanks, SE for your response. I also have, preceisely, the same impression about the EP process of MoM. However, as I heard from this relative that an agent asked her to apply for an EP eventhough she is on a social visit visa and does not have any valid job offer from any prospective SP employer. A...
