When we moved here we had the same deal (same salary as at home + bonus). It's true that you will save a lot on tax but live is very expensive here. I would say we have the same living standard here, except for a car that we could never afford! It's up to you to decide if you want to move for the sa...

I think it is unfair to say that Singaporeans lack empathy. I think people in general nowadays lack empathy. I've lived in several countries and my experiences are very similar in all of them. My sister-in-law lives in London and when she was pregnant she was constantly complaining about nobody ever...

I love Caudalie products that I order online. Just make sure not to get the products for dry skin which are too rich for SG. They also have great facial mists that you can carry with you in case you need to freshen up. Couldn't live without those :)

From my experience and what I've heard from others as well, it is very difficult to get a job in Singapore if you are applying from abroad. Also not only being in SG but also networking is the key to finding a job here. Try to go to as many events as possible and meet people. Have name cards ready. ...

The spekaers are very competent and can offer advise on any topics (resume, linkedin, interview, paper work, etc.). I es...

You could try the HO Medical Centre if you want to try out traditional Chinese medicine. No guarantee that it works but I've been there once and the doctor told me that if I ever wanted to have a baby I should come and see him. He'll give me some herbs which will make me conceive immediately :???: C...

I also order from amazon.com (you get free shipping if you order for more than S$125, if you clicked the box that the item must qualify for free shipping and the seller is amazon.com), however last time I ordered a CatGenie (self-cleaning cat toilet) but I couldn't get it to work here. Every single ...

I joined the FB ExpatWives group and also the American Association of Singapore (will have a look at ANZA, too). Has anyone been to the career workshops organised by the AAS (http://www.aasingapor...

Here is a helpful articles on all the Singaporean salons that do blond hair with approx. pricing: http://www.thehoneycombers.com/singapore/2013/11/hair-salon-singapore-...

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't think any of my old business contacts could introduce me to anyone in Singapore since I worked for a local company that doesn't have employees or clients abroad, so it's a bit difficult. But I will try to dig deeper - thanks for the advise! You are right, networking ...

Making business contacts in Singapore

Hi there, I recently moved to SG with hubby and heard that when it comes to finding a job it's not about what you know but who you know. So I was wondering how and where you business network? Are there any institutions organising business events regularly? I've been to some Internations events but a...
