jasmine_g , try Somerset Bencoolen. We paid SGD 240 ++ per night (based on 2 weeks stay) for 1 bed room apartment. I know it's not exactly cheap but it's not as high as the other service apartments and it's much better than a hotel room.

That's true. That's what we did. We open the account (EUR and SGD) and then we wire our euro money into the account and leave in the account as EUR. Much safer way.
