She should try getting a job for an aussie company who will send her here, getting one here is kind of hard and the pay is lousy.

Or she could just start having babies, like lots of other expat wifes do after a few months here...

If you're not too picky and/or don't mind living a bit outside the city centre, you'll find someting around 2000, I'm sure. It's renters market here, so remember to bargian (you can have a look at houses/flats advertised at about 2500 - and then negotiate). Have a look at the search on this site (fr...

The list you're referring to is for the HDB flats, not the condominiums, where dogs of all sizes are normally allowed. Might have a problem with the landlords, but it worked out fine with us. Also, houses are quite cheap compared to the condominum apartments, so you might like to look into that (can...

There are two dog-runs. One in Bishan Park run by the Singapore kennel club (dogs have to get a temprament test before entering, conducted every Sunday morning before 11). The Bishan one is crowded and small, but good if you want your dog to play with other dogs. Opening hours all days 6-8 pm, weeke...

You have to have a work permit or an employment pass, though.

With a Dependent pass or a Long term social visit pass they will not allow you to open an account.

Several of our neighbours have brought their cats, and they've settled in quickly. Of course your selection of places to live will be limited, but there is a lot available these days and you should be all right...

Depends on family situation?

Do you have a family? Are you bothered by noise of traffic and prefer greenery to concrete? Are you young, single and want to live in walking distance to nightclubs? It all depends on your wishes and budget, really. In addition to the above mentioned, you have the Clarke Quay area - very popular amo...

Compared to Europe, Singapore isn't dog-friendly at all. Only two places to let your dog run freely (dog-runs) - officially that is. In some condos (very few, that is) they have large grass areas and dogs are allowed to run freely provided that they don't bother anyone. People also do this on the be...

Some are good I'm sure. But honestly, I used to work in real estate in Scandinavia, and the standards and morale here is REALLY something different! My advice is to NEVER use an agent that you didnt get recommended from collegues/friends etc - and to get someone who has lived here for a while to rea...
