Hmm this maybe exactly be "unique" but have you considered club med bintan? It's only a short boat ride away from singapore and is one of the smaller n newer club med villages around. Not the cheapest but if you are thinking of a yatch i think with early booking med is a possible option.

Depending on your comfort level it may be "impossible" to sleep without aircon. But what i have realised is that not using a clothes dryer really helps. Considering how hot it is here you can get by without one

You mentioned they looked used so I'm pretty sure there will be no issues. But do take note of the voltage differences if any... when i brought my ps3 over from the states i had to buy a transformer...

Actually i came across this issue before and i only had to contact the overseas bank to sort this out...rather strange. Basically i wrote to wamu in the states as i wanted to withdraw 5k at a time and within a month i was able to do so. Then again this was 2.5 yrs ago but i doubt they would change it
