Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

I see the post of SMS mentioning ICA watching this board created a small miracle. OP, I hope you are honest, because "they" are not idiots. Well honestly I posted my reply before seeing him post that. In the end it doesn't matter does it? As long as I have the intention to serve and don't go awol t...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

There is another question I am not sure if appropriate or not but I cannot get over so I will just ask it anyways. Since my parents sponsor my PR, I think that if they leave/are outside SG once their REP expires, they will lose their PR status. However, if I do not leave SG(as I am doing NS), am I s...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

Unemployed or retired? And I am glad you've seen the light. My son did his NS in the Singapore Navy. He's decided to stay and now is one of the two owners of Grease Monkey Barber Garage. You can never know what can happen with the contacts and networks you create in Singapore Military. All males ha...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

I have another question to ask, which is what if my Sponsor(parent)'s PR expires while I am halfway through NS and the renewal is rejected? What will happen to me if I am in NS? as I heard that I will still continue to be a PR through NS until i am ORDed. Thanks in advance. You'll almost certainly ...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

Hi all again, new update. After doing some research and the convincing by you guys, I have learnt some new things such as my PR not being allowed to be renounced as I have been called up already and that was one of the main reasons my parents told me to not serve NS as their PR expires in 2019 which...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

Don't limit yourself for the rest of your life. Do your NS obligation. Build a network. Ensure that you can always return to Singapore. What you are planning to do will affect the rest of your life, negatively. What if your employer wants you to go to a meeting in Singapore? Or run a project? Or th...

Re: going to default NS due to a change in plans

After you hopefully settle down in Australia, are you going to burn your passport or just travel to NZ/US only? OP is PR. :) I know, I know. What I mean, Australia is probably not the most convenient location to default from the SG's NS. Planes get diverted from time to time. Never really thought t...

going to default NS due to a change in plans

Hi all, I have seen a lot of threads on these topics but non of them seem to fit in exactly to my situation so i wish to enquire about this now. So right now I am 17 years old in a JC as an Australian citizen and SG PR and going to do A levels next year. So i would roughly get back my results(have t...
