Re: Potential relocation to Singapore

Hi guys, Just following up. Don't want to be the kind of OP who asks tons of questions and never let people know what were the outcomes once I got the information lol. Basically, I contacted various moving companies in Thailand: Sea fly, Santa Fe Relocation, etc. They all seem quite serious but they...

Re: Potential relocation to Singapore

Thank you again guys ! :D :D Didn't about this kind of regulation as regards Airbnb, even though regulations about minimum leases are the same in Thailand. I am currently in the process of making it all happen, I'm having a deeper look at the available units, how to book one, how I can handle the mo...

Re: Potential relocation to Singapore

Thank you guys for the valuable information. What you are describing regarding condos is a bit frightening, but I guess I just have to be careful. In fact, in Thailand it was very easy to rent it. You just give a copy of your passport, you move in, and that's all. At the end of the lease, I just sen...

Potential relocation to Singapore

Hi all, I’m starting a new thread, as I need some valuable testimonies from long-time expats as you guys ;). I’ve been offered a position in Singapore. I really love this city, and I have the feeling I cannot let this chance slip away… What do you guys think about living there? Any expats there that...

Re: are the ads killing the forum?

Ads are crucial for forums. It is what it is. And the forum still loads quite quickly, so that's not a problem I guess ;)

Re: What should I eat in Singapore?

Asking what you should eat in Singapore is like asking which island to visit in Thailand lol.

You have everything you can barely imagine. Just go out, explore the city and try as much new food as possible, you'll love it, I swear :D

I like this one too, even though I don't know who wrote it:

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future. :o

This one resonates strongly with me, hope it will for you too

Re: Why you might not get that job!

I've hired about 5 people in the last 6 months (all PMET or STEM).... I've only hired people I have a first or second degree connection to .... I don't have the time to wade through interviews and these days I assume everyone's resume is full of lies, half-truths and exaggerations anyways.... So ho...

Re: How do foreigners find job in Singapore?

Hi ! As mentioned before, LinkedIn is a very good tool to find a job there. Another way to get a position is to use social networks, especially Facebook ! I found a position on Facebook, thanks to a post published on an expat group Good luck, and to forget to let us know how he found it once he's hi...

Re: Cheap alcohol?

This is a decent bunch of good advices for a newcomer like me :D

I'm relocating from Thailand, the ideal country for cheap alcohol ahah!

Anyway, no matter the country, I guess the best idea is to always buy alcohol at the supermarket and drink at home before going out ;)
