Pink IC / Citizenship ceremony: late Aug 2019.
Got a letter from ICA informing the proposed date. So,
Applied: Oct 2016
IPA: Mar 2019
SG Journey: May 2019
Oath + Passport: May 2019/Jun 2019
Proposed Pink IC: Aug 2019.

So you need to finish SGJOURNEY in 2 months from IPA. Formal approval letter - 7 days after SGJOURNEY + Tentative ICA appointment to Oath taking in a month. Before going to ICA, you need to give up your current citizenship/passport. So chances are slim that you can travel with your prev/current pass...

Pink IC - Not yet. SC Journey done & got the temp IC. Took a couple of months to finish.

Congrats. Came across similar experiences (i.e. Succesful appeals)recently and guess only ICA knows why they changed their mind.

None . Personally, I think it's useless but saw a couple of successful cases without any improvement or changes in their situation. It's a calculated risk of waiting few months with appeal vs few years with a new application. End of the day it's up to OP and all I can say is good luck.

Appeal - Existing wisdom says (and I tend to agree) it doesn't work. But no harm trying as the new application process is expected to take a few years more.
Recommendation letters / Grass Roots - Honestly, these won't work and it's just a matter of coincidence if anyone says it did IMHO.

Nope. Didn't updated. When my spouse changed the job right after doc submission, we did update ICA and received a reply that's implying ' we know from your cpf submissions and ask for addl details if needed'. So didn't really bothered to reach out to ICA for any changes.

2 years.. I guess that's fine as it takes pretty long in any other country and probably a way to test the plans and stability.
Salary - I don't think salary has much relevance as some of the known folks got it with less than the median income and few got rejected with 10x median income.

"good enough" to know the status. You still need the letter to get the approval date to go into sgjourney to finish the formalities. Not sure if ienquiry and myica are the same 100% but I guess there are some diff in terms of back end data. In my case (going through sg journey) ienquiry still shows ...

Check through MyICA. It will show approved or rejected online and typically tend to be slightly before one gets the physical mail.
ienquiry shows approved only after the SG Journey completed.

I am not sure if there are new requirements for Epass. My friend experience was in ~ end of 2017
