for books you'll be better off buying from online bookstore called opentrolley. they have a wide range of titles (1 million they say) and stock most of amazon's books.

if dvd, no choice, go amazon. cheapest in singapore still gramomophone

no where are they located? Everywhere. Sans Bookstore for one has many outlets. They have outlets in Plaza Singapura, VivoCity, Raffles Place, United Square, Hougang, etc. Of course there are others, one of which I frequent near my office at International Plaza. Not sure if the one at Siglap Centre...

There is also another Singapore online bookstore that sells children books. Google OpenTrolley Bookstore.

Maybe insufficient postage for one of the parcel? And in the end they say "oh well, let's just ship it"
