Re: Advice sought for salary package to move to Singapore

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. The SGD350K gross p.a. figure I quoted includes the housing, schooling and transport allowances. Upon further consideration, I think SGD 380K would be more appropriate, as the school fees are closer to SGD100K p.a. than SGD70K p.a. I have not quoted any numbers to the...

Re: Advice sought for salary package to move to Singapore

Hi all, Thanks for your advice. I checked the school fees again, and I do agree- SGD100K for 2 kids is more realistic- if you include all the miscellaneous expenses (enrollment, excursion fees, school uniforms, school bus, CCA fees etc.) Thanks for the tip re. the SRS contribution- I will definitely...

Advice sought for salary package to move to Singapore

Hi all, Due to a company re-organisation, there is a very real possibility that a posting to Singapore may be offered to me. I would like your advice on what you think is an acceptable package for moving to Singapore. I believe my package should be as follows: 1. Basic annual salary SGD 350K, which ...

Re: Former PR wishing to return

Hi all,
I turned down the job, as the terms were not attractive. So PEP was never an issue.

Re: Can I be exempted from NS?

Ultimately the Singaore govt can reject citizenship applications from NSmen who served as PRs for any reason. In fact, they don't have to give a reason- there is no judicial review of such decisions- so how do you know the reasons for rejection are reasonable? All I'm saying is that the public polic...

Re: Can I be exempted from NS?

Actually this whole ''2nd generation PR needs to serve NS'' is a big con by the Singapore govt. Here's why: 1. The Singapore govt often hints that its neighbourhood is not the most secure (i.e. Malaysia and Indonesia are not good neighbours and have threatened to cut off the water/gas supply). There...

Re: Former PR wishing to return

Hi PNGMK- thanks for the reply. Just to clarify- I don't want to get my PR back. I am asking if I can get a PEP (personalised Employment Pass). Your advice pretty much confirms my hunch. Although I do know of at least 1 case similar to mine. He was the same age cohort, Malaysian dad, Japanese mum. H...

Former PR wishing to return

Question for the likes of Mad Scientist (if he is still around). I would like to know the chances of a Personalised Employment Pass being approved, should I take up a job offer in Singapore. Background info: - Male, born in 1971, in U.K, to a British father and Singaporean mother; - British citizen ...
