Re: Thinking of Divorce

OP, Read your thread and felt the need to respond. I know you are going through a tough time. And from your message I gather that your confinement period was particularly hard on you. It gets much harder when in-laws and others get involved too. It is not uncommon for communication breakdowns betwee...

Re: PR approval chance in 2020

It was about 2 years. A year and ten months or so to be specific. After that I got promoted at work and my wife also started working. So we did have a boost in our collective income.

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Far fetched? Maybe the last one. But… Worldwide, more than 650 million women alive today were married as children. Every year, at least 12 million girls are married before they reach the age of 18. This is 28 girls every minute. One in every five girls is married, or in union, before reaching age 1...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Whatever you say grandpa. 😅 I know how much effort you must have gone through to put together that response. Special bonus points for that pointless image you added in too. I wonder how it must feel like to be in your shoes. Doubling down and digging your heels in deeper on a sinking ship. Oh well.....

Re: Ergonomic chair

Hey Abby - you could try this one from Secret Lab. It's a mesh office chair. I use it myself and the experience thus far has been good. It's well built and quite sturdy. Also unlike the usual secret lab chairs - it's far less flashy and "gamer" looking.

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Cheesy needs to spend a little more time reading for content and less time crusading itself. If it wants to play with the big dogs it cannot be peeing like puppy unless it is using the right pronoun. Lol SMS. Clearly the world is changing at a pace that you old timers can't keep up with. Perhaps we...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Malcontent might come unhinged if you push too hard MyasisDragon. And then his fellow geriatric gang (SundayMorningStaples included) will act as back up dancers throwing in one line zingers from time to time. Homophobia comes in different shades. And what we've all been treated too on this thread ar...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

You've got to applaud the folks trying to reason and talk sense to Malcontent. This chap was the one who coolly stated a bit earlier (while sitting atop his moral high ground) - that he loves the sinners but hates the sin. This really is the problem with lack of reform with religion. It breeds folks...

Well said bro75. Couldn't have said it better. This is perhaps the best possible summary of the conservative views expressed/held by the super senior members on this thread.

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

There is always room for armchair discussions. However, as things stand (especially in light of the current announcements that have been made). What did you expect? To sit down once more and have a debate in a manner where LGBTQ+ allies keep doing more to varnish the egos of the openly biased? To c...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Sure SMS 😅. For a bunch of folks who discuss every topic under the sun (race, ethnicity, rating families and folks). You seem surprisingly touchy about folks being pigeonholed. Especially on a topic where straight men/women sit and pass judgement on the lives of others. There is always room for armc...

Re: Thoughts on 377a repeal

Saw this thread and was hoping to read a few progressive thoughts and comments. Alas - I was disappointed. Also the responses help color the mindset of the some senior members on this forum - which is that they are indeed err...quite senior. The gahmen clearly is serving up what it's target audience...

Re: ve visitedving to Singapore Long Term - what happens when you hit retirement age?

Out of curious based on what PNGMK said. If you have enough saved up, hold a PR, and are keen to stay here for the long term - is that actually possible? I always assumed that PR renewal was dependant on work related factors (ie: you'd have to be working, paying taxes and doing well for your PR to b...

Re: Seeking Advice/Thoughts on our PR Failures

By Plan B, smoulder meant immigrate to other countries in the event your EP isn’t renewed. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be. You also re-apply way too soon between rejections. Common advice is to wait 2 years after a rejection before re-applying and only re-apply if there are significant changes...
