CARE?

What I've heard of for the BBB is "CARE." Don't know anything about them though, or how easy the process is. I've also got complaints about crappy aircon services. Threaten to sue seems to work. <rant> Singapore should stick to chili crabs and chicken rice and not bother marketing itself as a servic...

Forget about UOB

I make a very decent salary with a very clean credit history, and applied with UOB for a credit card, but got rejected. There's something weird about Singapore; someone claiming to be from UOB called me after I applied, and immediately asked my FIN number. I told them that I was unwilling to provide...

air conditioning service?

Hi all, Anyone have a good recommendation for Air Conditioning service contractors? Or also any recommendation on how things work in this wonderful little red dot? We aren't satisfied with our current one. Our air-con broke in our apartment, and the service guys came over twice to fix it. It's still...

Drop agent.

12mo lease should be 1mo Good Faith Deposit for first month, and 1mo real deposit that you get at end of lease.

Also S$2500 or more means ll pays all commission.

Check out the iea website - google iea singapore - and look at the commission schedule under "Professional Fee."

Good luck.

taxis- could be shift change too

i thought they were lazy they want the extra commission, but it could also be a shift change. or they could be on the way to pick someone up, but they 4got to change their sign. or the stop location might not be "safe." but probably because they want the extra commission of getting a ph.call booking.

Commission for Real Estate agents

Hi there- I'm in the process of settling on a new apartment in Singapore >> S$2500. Lease is 12mos. Agent is saying ll's agent is saying they want to split full month's rent, but I was told repeatedly and have reviewed with the IEA website that when rent is > S$2500, no commission is to be paid by t...

I'm going thru the same thing now. It's a bit of a hastle but probably not impossible. The "common-law" part of the LTSV is I think designed for this. Call your embassy and enquire from them. U.S. embassy needed me to sign an affadavit, and they added U.S. seal. Additionally somebody has to sponsor ...

My spouse is coming over shortly, she knows Mahjong and has promised to teach me. I also have a neighbor that would like to learn.

I just moved in just recently, and have got some settling down to do. What would be the earliest, do you think, you could meet?

Thx Nanren,

I'm U.S. , Girlfriend is PRC - what's best for us?

Hi, all, I'm considering a relo to Singapore with my (US) company. The stay would be ~1yr. I'm a U.S. passport holder, and my girlfriend is a Chinese passport holder. My company will be able to help get a P1 pass for me, but I'm not willing to go without my girlfriend. We're curious to know what's t...
