Surely standards for academic hires (ie, professors) are different from people in IT and banking? You can't compare an office worker to a university professor otherwise how would sng attract top scholars to move there? Can you point me to the website that gives the criteria for PR status?

I find this discussion fascinating. I am being considered for a job at one of the university's in sng as a senior hire (ie, tenured). I am a caucasian from north america and have been told I can get PR status after one year. Is this true? What would happen if my application is turned down? I know no...
