Having recently moved to Hong Kong, I see that maids here are treated like employees instead of bonded labour. They are paid decent money and work normal hours. Many have time off EACH DAY and are lucky enough to be able to stay outside of their employers house. I have met many that have worked in b...

Durain How do you know what Visa charges your issuing bank? Your contract is NOTwith Visa it is with X bank. Visa does not issue credit cards. In effect, you don't have a Visa card, you have a X bank card issued on the Visa network. Visa charges charge 1%. Have a look at Visa's annual report. Your T...

I wouldn't worry yourself about nothing. Ghosts don't exist and you will simply cause yourself a lot of stress if you believe this.

Life has too many REAL things to worry about already.

What is your credit card? All VISA and Mastercard cards carry an automatic 1% load/ spread on the interbank rate charged by the network (i.e. VISA). Then generally the issuing bank (i.e. DBS, UOB etc) would apply an additional 1% -2% spread. Maybe your issuing bank does not charge you but the networ...

Re: the AMEX FX Statement It has nothing to do with adding 2% of the cost of the purchase. It is the methodology for calculating the FX rates. Read it again carefully. So a $100 purchase does NOT have $2 added. It is the FX spread on the interbank rate. Totally unrelated to a 2% change on the purcha...

Cards

AMEX don't charge 2% on international purchases. No credit card that I have used ever does this. A MERCHANT may ask you to pay a surcharge but that is not AMEX. Plus this would appear on your bill. I think something else maybe happening. I have serveral cards, which I have used across the region, UK...

Hello

Hello Minjee I will there at 8:00. I have sent you an e-mail. See you later. Kimi We may have met, as I used to go out quite a lot as well, but I have been traveling a lot with work so I haven’t been out much here for about a year. Friday Night

Where did you have in mind in BQ? I find it a bit touristy. It is good if going straight from work, but I wanted to head home first.

I was going to meet a bit later, but if you want to meet early 7.00ish, i'm happy to go to BQ.

Friday Night

Hello I'm up for a few drinks on Friday. Do you have any suggestions? If not could meet at Emerald Hill, there are a few bars there and it is in the centre of Orchard, so very easy to get to. I think Ice Cold Beer has a pretty good happy hour and a pool table so maybe a good place to start. I will r...

WOW- QRM - i'm amazed people still think like this. Quote - "I let her out for half an hour" - "So If we ever do get a new one, a ball and chain starts to look like a pretty realistic option" What is she a dog? Or some kind of bonded labour? You have been here too long. Do you and your wife honestly...

I find it fascinating that in the 21st century there is still a large number of educated people who hold on to myth and folk law with such passion. Thankfully, there is a clear correlation between educating the masses and the abandonment of religion. Fortunately it is possible to appreciate the cult...

Why do you do want to be a Singaporean? I'm not sure you have explained that. Not feeling at home in your own country doesn't really qualify as an answer.

Feeling at home in Singapore and wanting to be a Singaporean are totally different things.
