just my observations after living in both mainland China and SG for many many years....when Singaporeans bad mouth PRCs, it's like the pot calling the kettle. same, same but barely different. Sure, I've seen many more shocking things in China, but being 'kiasu' isn't just a Singaporean trait, it's a...

honestly I think it has more to do with them just not thinking rather than out and out rudeness. Lots of people here seem to be on weird 'automatic pilot' type of brain functioning -so they don't ever get to the thought process of informing the next person in line. But common sense seems to be missi...

Re: Chaya, come back!!!

I'm thinking I might try Cedric. Very depressed at the money I'll have to chuck at this to make it look passable, and probably it will never look right until this mess has grown out. Any other suggestions of a colourist good enough to fix it are VERY welcome! . Save your money and don't go to Cedri...

It's not a 'rule'- just a guideline that they will try to get away with if you agree to it. There are plenty of other agents out there who will not charge this 'fee', just look around.

I think it's a total rip off. $5-10 would be a much fairer price- for both sides! The view up there is certainly not worth $20- whatsoever!

Re: Engagement Ring

Where is a good place to get a custom made engagement ring. Looking for a ring about 2 carat, and willing to spend upto SGD 20k. NO Tiffanys!! Dunno... and can't think of a bigger waste of money. Would not want to be hooked up to the gal that thinks a $20K ring is the way to go. Super shallow. What...

Mainly the local and Asian Expats. Having said that, there are people from western countries who also treat their maids like slaves as well. Fortunately, they are a minority. Fully agree, I've found that most locals and Asian expats will do this- but Asians, generally speaking, treat others they de...

The US is a big country and salaries, cost of housing, quality of life differ from one place/state/city to the next. The Bay area (where Google is located) is generally more expensive than say Seattle.. but salaries usually are relative too. But if you like nature and outdoors both offer a great qua...

As of Jan 1st 2011, haven't the rules changed regarding commissions paid to an agent (tenant)- even if the rent is over 3K SGD a month? I was told that now, due to the new rules, even if the rent is over 3K- then a 1/2 month rental per each year of lease- fee is suppose to be paid to your tenant age...

Like what sort of skin problems? Fungal or allergies?

I would wash their paws off upon returning home especially if people are putting out pesticides on the grassy areas. Your dog can easily have a reaction to something like that.

I believe it was the French who went to London to teach the Brits how to cook -hence the good restaurants in London now...perhaps you should try looking for French places here instead of 'modern British' restaurants.
