Re: Spouse of PR

No additional employer documents are usually required unless immigration requests them. If PR is approved, one of the requested documents to bring for the in-person formalities is the sponsor’s letter of employment… ICA definitely wants to physically verify any document you submitted online in pers...

Re: Seeking Advice: PR Application Pending Beyond 6 Months

Yes, I think you may reach out to the ICA to ask for an update, but please also expect a standard response. Under the new system, we don't know if the ICA is able to provide a more detailed update when applicants reach out. Let us know here if you do reach out and what the response was.

Re: Citizenship approved on first application

Congrats, OP. Did your spouse take up SC as well? Out of curiosity, how did you make the decision of taking up SC v/s keeping Australian citizenship with PR (which is typically the Singaporean dream, I believe?)?

Re: Finally got my Singapore Citizenship!

That sounds very promising. Thanks for letting me know, OP.

Out of curiosity, what was the exact date of your application? If this is indeed true, I am glad that they are finally processing applications within a reasonable time.

Re: Any consequences of withdrawing Citizenship application before AIP/application being considered?

Yes, I understand that @NYY1. That is why I used the words "on a whim" and "mistake" in my first post. I became anxious and guilt-ridden that our second child (if and when that happens) will have to go through the local education system while the first will have the advantage of switching to an inte...

Re: Any consequences of withdrawing Citizenship application before AIP/application being considered?

Sorry, @NYY1. The system doesn't allow me to edit the post. I meant to ask this in relation to my family (ie son's) application (sponsored application). He is a PR, and as a family, we have come to the conclusion that we don't want to volunteer him to be a citizen at this point. We want to wait for ...

Any consequences of withdrawing Citizenship application before AIP/application being considered?

All, I applied for the SG citizenship on a whim only a few days ago (30 Aug). However, after discussing this with my partner (admittedly, I made the mistake of not discussing this prior to hitting the submit button), we both agreed we don't want to commit to becoming SG citizens just yet for a few p...

Re: Can a child of (a foreigner parent + Singaporean) take foreign citizenship?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, SMS. You always provide useful advice. Maybe this is a sign from the dear Lord to stop at one kid  I know the scenario is different, but it is just an example of the minefields that the government sets up to prevent playing around with the systems they have ...

Re: Can a child of (a foreigner parent + Singaporean) take foreign citizenship?

Thank you, NYY1, for your feedback. Wish I had just remained PR and given my second child PR as well before applying for citizenship for only myself... Didn't realize this limitation until I read the fine print that my 2nd child will be forced into Singaporean citizenship (and hence local schooling)...

Re: Can a child of (a foreigner parent + Singaporean) take foreign citizenship?

Thank you, SMS. I appreciate you sharing this story in detail, but I think you are misunderstanding? I want my 2nd son/daughter to be a foreign citizen, but *with* PR. That means that I *want* him (if it is a son) to do NS. What I don't want is local schooling for any of my kids. That is the only an...

Re: Can a child of (a foreigner parent + Singaporean) take foreign citizenship?

Thank you, NYY1. Yes, both are very recent.

Does that mean that we will have to ensure that our child if born overseas and then bring him or her to Singapore? And then sponsor his or her PR application as a citizen? Is that correct?

Can a child of (a foreigner parent + Singaporean) take foreign citizenship?

Hi all, I recently got citizenship by registration. My wife and my son (born before I got citizenship) are PRs here. If I have another kid and if s/he is born in Singapore, can s/he take my wife's citizenship and be on the PR? I don't mind him (if we have another son) doing the NS, but I want to agg...

Re: "Proceed to upload documents" button is missing in ICA Website

what was the exact date of your application? Did you checked Cpf site? Hi digitalfruits18, have you received the outcome of your application? My upload button went missing on 15 June as well, but the status is still pending on the ICA page. Hi Everyone, Good Morning!! I have been following posts in ...
