Why is the internet speed so poor in Singapore? Internet speed in Singapore is fantastic ! (fastest in the world I think - someone prove me wrong ?) I wasn't too fussed about region as Singapore is the same as the US region - so most of my films are from US Amazon.....

I'd imagine the disks have a region code printed on the cover somewhere ?

get some Bluray's to see the full potential of the TV, or you can download Kung Fu Hustle or Casino Royale from PS network in HD.

I also have the Bravia 1080p I think my non HD plasma handles a non HD signal better than the HD LCD Bravia. I certainly prefered how the non HD channels looked on the non HD plasma to how they look on the HD Bravia. Perhaps that's all it's down to - my personal preference between LCD and plasma.......

quick answer: No :( Picture quality on my HD TV sucks on non HD channels. It's actually worse on the full HD TV(with HD set top box) than it was on the non HD plasma (with a 'normal' box). If there is upscaling, I can't see it. But the 2 HD channels are v nice indeed and the kind of shows on Discove...

we brought our UK phone over here and it works fine.

But ours plugs into our Starhub modem using an rj11 plug - not into the wall

UKDesigner - I think we may be talking at crossed purposes here. There's voip (Skype type things) and there's a voice enabled modem which let's you plug a normal (landline) phone handset into the modem itself. I thought the original question was asking about plugging a landline phone into the modem...
