Housing Agent fees for renewal and can you skip the agent?

I heard from my agent that if we want to renew our rental contral we would have to pay a fee to him again. Is this true??? We were planning to stay put and avoid further costs, but if I have to pay again, we may as well look for a new place. Also, I know most agents are professional, nice and have w...

Strictly no-maid policy in playgroups?

I just received a reply from a playgroup in a very reputable institution that have a "Strictly no-maid policy". I am shocked at such statement, specially because I thought the playgroup was for kids, not for mommies. Have anyone dealt with this before?. I can not understand why they would not allow ...

Sewing classes

I tried to find this myself, and found that the only classes available were done by Quilt shop. There is one on the top floor in Tanglin mall, but did not offer any formal classes for sewing other than quilts. Somebody mentined a shop on the top floor in Plaza Singapora, that seems to specialize in ...

Health insurance for diabetic child

Hello, A friend is considering moving to Singapore and she has a diabetic child - 8 years old. In my personal experience, health insurance companies here try to exclude prexisting conditions from their policy or charge you so much more that you opt not to have the coverage. Does anyone know of a Hea...

Bukit Batok infant care visits

Hello, Well, I decided to go and visit the following infant daycare centers and here is what I found: 1. Babies Inc. In a scale of 1 to 10, I will give it a 6 at best! I was surprised to see how untidy the place was. Although the facilities are old, I think they could do with some serious cleaning a...

Recommended Interior Designer who has Bali-Thai Asian themes

Hello, Just wondering if anybody can recommend an interior designer who specializes in a sort of "Spa living" at home. I have seen several ads, and most of them seem to work really "hip and contemporary", and I am looking for a more traditional touch. Hoping you have some helpful suggestions. Thanks...

Online movie rentals

Hi,
I realize this is an old post but I was just wondering whether you tried the online movie rentals at the end.? I also think they are a bit pricey and I don't know anyone else who does it?

Any tips?

Thanks,
Paola
