I'm with POSB/DSB. I chose them because they are ubiquitous. You can practically spit on the next branch over anywhere in Singapore. Which is kind of what I'd like to do. I don't like them. Complaints - 1. Excessive fees ... applies to just about anything besides depositing money and using the ATM. ...

Ok, off topic, but related to the previous post. There IS a hierarchy in the USA of how much you can love your native state. Texans top the list. No one loves their native state more than Texans, and it's a life-long love affair. In close second, (surprisingly) is a tie between Virginia and Oregon. ...

Very interesting. I'd love to see the robust economic argument explaining how the US real estate market influences the SINGAPORE real estate market. Most US economists don't really believe that the NY real estate market influences the CALIFORNIA real estate market, let alone any international market...

I live in Pasir Ris and commute to Beach road (about half-way in between Lavendar and Bugis stations). The total commute time is about 45 minutes. About 10 minutes longer than when I lived in Manhattan. If both home and work are close to the MRT stations, then you certainly won't have more than an h...

People were really surprised by the length of the show? They have 2 albums (not counting live and acoustic remakes.) They aren't particularly long albums. They can play every song they've ever recorded in 80 minutes. Were people looking for repeats?

Crackpot 24 theory

Oh it's no big thing. 24 elected an African American to the presidency. They had all kinds of debate in season 1 about 'what that would mean' for the country. I think that it aired the entire race debate and then anticlimactically discarded the emotion of it in favor of a plotline based on ACTIONS t...

Oh yeah, I'm following this election. This years primaries have been more fun than this years NFL playoffs! What cracks me up the most is that the candidates who are least likely to win the presidency are the candidates that are doing best in the primaries. (Romney & Clinton). I'm also really surpri...

Hi all

I'm looking for a place to watch the game too.

What is involved in the 'door prizes' and 'I'll reserve a table'? Do we pony up cash in advance or pay as you go?

Minnesota winters

I would highly advise against moving here from the Eden that is Minnesota. You'll miss the winters too much. Your car will always start without even plugging it in. And your boogers won't ever freeze. It's really not worth the risk.

Bali

I went to Bali and went WAY out on the west coast and loved it. But it's a get-away kind of vacation rather than a go-go activity packed kind of thing. You have to take your own fun with you if you go west. I agree on the 'kid-friendly' comments regarding Bangkok. I'm not easily shockable -- but Ban...
