I agree 5k is more than enough. As for saving ,it depends what you are savin g for and how effectively you are saving it. You just have to worry about the rental, other than that living cost is not really that high in singapore, unless you thrive on luxury.

Hi Nafo, I am local, I am eating food on this island for the past 28 years! So here is my point of view: F&B is certainly a good business in singapore although competitive. What is not competitive these days? Location wise if you are targeting expats, you can try clarke quay or boat quay or anywhere...

It depends on what you are supposed to do with the money. Medium term? short term? That is an important factor too.
