As a first time 'elderly' Scottish mother, I had no help, family too far to come regularly, no friends with babies, husband studying, I was ON MY OWN! When I heard of this Asian confinement, I nearly died of jealousy. I would even have eaten pigs trotters and put up with all kinds of 'BS' to have av...

I would recommend Tioman over Bintan, we had a lovely holiday there, but pay the bit extra and go Berjaya Air, two hours on that ferry and you would sell your luggage to get off! Diving and snorkling is the best I've seen anywhere and my kids loved it. Plus it was much cheaper than Bintan. But bewar...

Thanks for your reply, yes I have spoken to the head on several occassions, we've been very upfront about how we feel. I agree with getting tutors, which are an essential, even in the best international schools. Incidently, local tutors are usually very organised and much better value for money, at ...

I understand it isn't easy to hear negative things about something you have comitted your children to, and I apologise if people feel bad about this, but I am trying to be honest and give credit where it is due. My family are very happy in Singapore and we came here because it was a solution to the ...

If you want to wait for UWC, make sure your kids are very well behaved and very academic, the long list means they can choose the very best in grade 10, and will not hesitate to ask them to leave if they get into any bother, or have any problems at all. They are very concerned about their results an...

Both my boys needed orthodontic work when we came here 5 yrs ago and I was quoted $12OOO, which was too much as I had limited insurance.I was told to go to National University Hospital down BeunoVista Rd. I have kids in the senior years at ERIS, and I am not so happy with it. There are problems recruiting teachers, several subjects given cover teachers (who are off-topic), but often are unsupervised. After 4 weeks, lots of text books are unavailable at a very badly run bookstore and it is very hard t...
