I recommend Serangoon Garden. This is a mostly landed houses estate, with many eateries, shops, NTUC, banks, etc. In terms of rental psf, it is cheaper than condos.

Choose Serangoon Gardens. There are many eateries, shops, POSB, police station, NTUC, many banks, pet stores, pubs and a social club there. Mostly houses there, and if you used to living in landed homes, this is a nice location. There are also buses to Serangoon MRT station (10 mins journey).

Take up a ballroom or latin dance class with a reputable dance studio. once you get started, and mix around, life will never be boring again.
