I think regular facials are key to having good skin. Look at any celebrity when they hit the big time their skin improves even if it is very poor to begin with. Victoria Beckham has problem combination skin, prone to spots. Regular facials are key for improvements & a good skin care regime. It doesn...

Tanglin Club & Pine Club?

Just seen a discussion on these and wondered if anyone here is a member? What are they like?

Why are they difficult to get into? Thanks.

I haven't really thought about the security so much... I think I was really concerned about it in Jakarta and then coming here it's so much safer that it wasn't really on the radar. My husband has also told me not to worry re: security. I think having been in Europe where it is so tight (esp...

Fat busting with radio frequency?

I had a treatment whereby a metal plate is placed under your back and your 'fat bits' are rubbed over with a very hot probe. Not explaining it well but that was the jist.

Just wondering if there are any risks? I felt like a steak under the grill :)

Anyone had this done and with what resutls?

Is it the pre-school that you had previously secured a place for your 3 year old? I won't give names either. But if your answer is yes others can find out easily enough with a little common sense on this board. I have more than one pre-schooler (over run with the nippers)! I had worked that ...

I'd rather not name and shame (it actually seems to be a decent school too).

Just wanted to see if this was 'normal' for Singapore, apparently not from what you've said.

Thanks for the reply.

Security at schools - am I being a fusspot?

I find the security pretty lax at the school my children attend. There is a security man and we have a pass to show him. I have never shown it, he has never asked for it and sometimes he isn't there and we just go in. He does know my face when he sees me. We had a playdate the other day and I just c...

Advice re: Dentist trip

I went to a highly recommended Dentist for a check up & clean and polish. I asked him for a recommendation to make them look cleaner and whiter (some slight discolouration). He took an xray and then told me I had good teeth and it would be a crime to veneer the front ones (a bit worn and discoloured...

Eyelash extension on Orchard? Like Jinny Lask UK?

I've seen a few posts about these. In London I had my eylashes extended by Jinny Lash who ware fantastic. They glued each lash to each individual eye lash, cost about Sing dollars $600. Expensive but amazing. They look incredibly natural, just like the most amazing long, thick lashes you see sometim...

Questions about new helper

Hi Firstly want to say our new helper, our first ever, has just started. She seems lovely and all is going well. I am totally new to it so would really appreciate some help. I have a few questions: 1. I gave her $150 for groceries just for her for one month. I also gave her $50 for toiletries for he...

What strikes me as odd as that many UWC parents seem to be in the dark about it? My friend said I was wrong as she said she'd have heard of it. Her daughter is at UWC. Thanks. I imagine on the plus side the extra money will benefit exisiting children at the school, facilities etc. A friend said that...
