there's a place in the basement of plaza singapura that will cut your hair for $10...it's very cheap and quick - they do an okay job...it's a japanese chain

hi...i live at 8@mount sophia...it's a pretty nice place. Close to everything, especially plaza singapura and the MRT. the facilities are pretty nice too (swimming pool, gym).

i think Marine Bay is $240 for non PR...150 for PR though...

Batam or Bintan are too far - it takes the whole day to play 18 holes when you factor in travel time...

any other good courses in Singapore itself so that i save on travel time?

Hi, i'm looking for a good, but cheap golf course in Singapore. I'm used to cheap public courses in the U.S., but it seems aside from crappy 9 hole courses, there aren't any that's under $200 for non citizen/PR folks...

I think locals in SG pay $300 per month for their live-in maids...I guess there's a big discrepancy between expats and local prices - don't know why that is the case, other than the fact that expats could pay more.

that's a good and comprehensive view of the Singapore RE market. my apartment building is not even half full after opening for more than three months! the main problem i think is that the market is not deep. Price movements are therefore sharp in either direction. It's susceptible to speculation.

definitely wait for 6 - 12 months...the U.S. is going into a recession. Don't know where prices would go ultimately, but upside of buying is very limited at this point relative to the downside...
