I live around that area too ... suffolk rd ... Its a f.ng nightmare ... done this once , went down and said the worst words ever to the construction manager ... helps to reduce your angry, but they wont stop ... was not aware of people working 7 days per week , cant have some good sleep not even on ...

Just had the same situation couple weeks ago ...

I dont know if it was because my girlfriend had the LTSVP, but her Employment Pass (S pass) was approved in 1 week.

I believe it matters, but dont know ... normally should take more than 1 week to get the visa approved.

I would try Challenger at Funan IT mall, they have 37' LCD for 1199 sgd.
Just bought one for myself, the brand is a Palladine and seems to be very good.
Try also harvey norman at Funan, they have a special deal 1,500 sgd for 37' samsung tv + home theater
