There's the Asian Civilization Museum near Raffles Place. Just take the MRT to Raffles place, exit towards the UOB building, cross the bridge and the museum is just on the other side of the river. It's $8 per entry. I heard the art gallery is good. It's just opposite the SMU but no MRT nearby.
