I worked in the investment banking side with mainly derivatives. Ive been told by my reruitment agency not to appear as knowledgeable as the hiring managers feel threatened.

Maybe you have to much experience and are scaring the hiring managers ? Ive found a lot of locals are in senior positions when in the States or the UK they would only be in junior roles given their lack of experience and knowledge . Whats your background ?

Ive got a Q pass so near enough to the top. I guess I got Q because even if I have a Masters degree Im still on the lower salary rungs. Ive found HR to be very stubborn here and thats being diplomatic...

If you don't want to pay the money stay in the company for the additional 2 months. Just don't do any work....of course its a bit risky.

I see the contract as being clear. However the company has used a particular sequence of phrases to benefit (or protect) itself depending how you see it. Hence its really an 8 month minimum contract.
