Hi Kman, well I don't know really. I guess for me it was just a precaution to include it. Before I send it out I was thinking by myself what is the point of stating my salary without any proof? Especially considering the fact that my previous employer was in the Netherlands, so no way MoM will check...

Have you tried selling yourself to NOL?[/quote]

I did indeed and I also had an interview with them. At this moment however they don't have a suitable position. Far enough I guess as I gave them a "cold call" and did not apply to a vacancy.

I belive Saint to be on the ball! When it comes to agencies it is quite normal to bullshit, they are agents, which means they need as many qualified people as possible, No degree no chance, because the agents themselves are also limited in qualifications, not all of course. Well guys, this has been...

Forks, what we did whenever we had to deal with an agent was to simply ignore all their beautiful offers and only talk about the deal/condo that we were interested in. If they still didn't listen we would simply walk away. Worked brilliantly :)

Congratulations on your receiving your PEP. As good as as PR for the 5 year period except you are only allowed to be out of work for no more than 6 months at a time. Additionally, which shouldn't be a problem is the minimum per annum salary requirements to keep from losing it. Again, Congratulation...

Just a quick update on this topic. We just rented a condo in Parc Vista next to the Lakeside MRT. We offered 15 percent below the asking price and got it just like that... So it seems the market is faaalling... and you'll be able to get "good" deals, although it is still very expensive if you ask me.

Hi all, last Monday may 12 I got my PEP. It is all pretty new to the MoM so there has been quite a bit of confusion within their organization and I got different answers but thanks to this forum I persisted and finally succeeded. I got my PEP based on my salary/career in my home country. So I simply...

SMS is right. "Negotiations" often means "I've decided to raise my price, take it or leave it." Demand is high enough right now that you may indeed run into another potential renter willing to trump your offer. Indeed that did happen a month ago when we were looking for a short term lease, there wa...

Rental negotiable

Hi all, my girlfriend and I have recently arrived in Singapore and we're planning to rent a condo or apartment soon. A lot of the ads however quote a price and then put negotiable next to it. For instance 3.2K neg. My question is what is normal practice in these cases? Do you offer 10, 15 , 20 perce...

Joshua88, sorry but I didn't mean to confuse Kn1ghtx with my previous answer. Indeed I called MOM too about 2 weeks ago, they 'confirmed' with me that the PEP is only suitable for people to apply if they already are the EP holder. The S$7000 clause is about expat earn the salary in their home curren...
