Buying MP3's

Hi all, Does anyone know where one can buy MP3's online in Singapore, if at all? I can't do it through iTunes or amazon.com - I imagine something to do with not having legal niceties or something worked out for music sales in other countries. I know I could likely download through bittorrent or some...

Well that's bollocks - I thought Best Denki wouldn't sell me something that I couldn't use in Singapore as they are a "big chain" but I guess I was wrong! That being said, your message was quite helpful as it a) helped me identify it as CEE 7/17 (based on the description of the plastic base of the p...

Odd - 2-pin plug won't go in electrical outlet

Hi all, Encountering something odd - I bought a battery recharger which had two pins (plug "B" about half-way down the screen at http://www.american-allergy-supply.com/dn3000/dn3000.htm) and tried to plug it into my electrical socket, which is more in line with plug "D", same link as above. It won't...

Hmm, but I certainly want to avoid the Western food - I didn't come all this way to eat what I had back in Canada. ;) Things are actually not working out too bad - I mix in yong tau foo and mixed rice stalls. Also I was told Korean is pretty healthy (not oily), so I've been having that (helps that t...

Looks like I'm destined to go grill-less. :) So what did you use instead of the GF grill, SMS? Like you, I'm looking for one for the health benefits. :)

The Breville looks great, thanks! How were you thinking of getting it shipped to Singapore? I'm looking for some sort of "online store" but don't see it on their website?

George Foreman Grills?

Does anyone know where to get a George Foreman Grill (or similar two-sided press grill)? Whenever I ask at storse I get blank stares, or they take me to the waffle iron/sandwich makers which aren't quite what I'm looking for. :) Not sure if this is the right forum for this...but GF grills are for he...

Where to buy games online?

Hi all, I'm trying to buy a stand-alone copy of "Guitar Hero 3" for the PS3 without the guitar controller as part of a package with the game. This is proving well-nigh impossible so I thought I would just do it on Amazon.com - but then I realized they would send me a north american version of the ga...

Anyone ever install screens?

Coming from Canada I'm used to having screens on my windows. Has anyone ever gotten them installed in their apt/condo? I know bugs won't kill me (well, maybe dengue) but if it's not expensive, I might look into it.

Thanks!

Yeah, I think i'm going to have to go with the home cooking. Sigh. I want to avoid that because I have bugs, and I don't want to give them anything else that might attract them...just have to clean up super-good I guess. :)

Ah, yong tau fu - I've seen that all over but not really figured it out yet. What's the deal, you just choose 7 items and they..put it in broth for you? I like the popiah so I'll have to work that in more. Tonight I had dumpling + noodles (not in soup), so hopefully that was ok. :) I'm not on a low ...

What are "good" and "bad" Singaporean fo

Hi all, New to Singapore and am getting concerned about the fact that I eat at a hawker center for virtually every meal. :) My typical meal will be at one of the stalls where you get a serving of rice +2 veg + 1 main (usually meat). At times I go with rice + 3 veg, or rice +2veg + tofu. I'll have th...

That's great, thanks for the info! I laid cockroach traps yesterday but they didn't have much effect (I know, it's just been one day...) - but I did notice that I think they were in fact eating dead bug guts (the ones I killed today, that is!) Still not sure if they are roaches since they are so sma...

Thanks for the info! How much does it cost to have the pest company come in? And how did you seal the garbage chute? Mine isn't in the kitchen but it is close by (out on the concrete 'patio' separated by a door).

That's hilarious. So the one pest eats the other pests? In which case the gecko needs to do a better job, as the other bugs are still around.

I'd still prefer a zero-pest environment so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. :)
