looking for someone, help

Hey everyone, I know this is a long shot, but I thought to try regardless. How would I go about finding a mailing address of a Singaporean resident? I used to correspond with her through a "learn to write English" pen pal program. We corresponded for 10 years, then I moved to Canada and we lost touc...

Hi el Greco (even though I cheer for Olympiakos)

I am considering seriously moving to Singapore in the near future. I also have found this site very helpful. I would love to hear a Greek's perspective of Singapore. Please, any input would be most welcome.
Thanks and enjoy your stay

Well, I currently live in Canada and consider moving to Singapore. Like everyone else mentioned, it depends what kind of lifestyle you want. Canadians are more open-minded than most regarding acceptance of foreigners. Exposure to many nationalities is the norm here. I am not going to say that there ...

Thank you all for your replies. I do not think that the yellow pages would advertise the kind of school I am looking for. I found the school I am in right now totally by chance, it was not advertised or anything. I guess I was ready and the mentor showed up... And I am not looking for just women's s...

I have read the threads. However, the majority of the messages are about airline crews and/or from people that have only visited or lived there a long time ago. I am more interested, if possible, in experiences of people that have lived there recently. Thanks though

Hi there Thank you for your replies. My thanks to the moderator, who pointed out the oriental bit comment. I had no idea but now I do and will keep it in mind. K1W1, yes the reason is financial among others. I was always against private schooling. You are right, however, I have been wondering how my...

LOCAL SCHOOLS AND EXPAT KIDS

Hi everyone My family and I are moving there in the near future. I have been checking this forum quite regularly, trying to get an understanding of what is going on there; the locals, the expats, the politics, the attitudes... Recently, I came upon a multi-paged topic regarding the way foreigners ar...

Hi there Our arrival will be delayed because of a very serious family emergency, so I have not looked for a while. My situation is a bit different than your wife's though. My PhD is in biological sciences not social sciences. In my case there are, as I am finding out, a lot of opportunities. I do no...

biopolis

Hi everyone I am finishing up my PhD in Canada and moving on. All arrows seem to point towards Biopolis. I have some questions regarding certain issues. During the course of my graduate studies I have worked with quite a few people from the Orient. Most of the things they told about working issues i...

Hi Manita

I am in the same boat as you. I do know that jobs for NUS or other universities are posted on each institute's website, but you have to surf the site a bit. As far as pay goes, it is never posted on the website. I guess this is something you find out during an interview.

Relocating and looking for work

Hi everyone

We are moving to Singapore because of my husband's job. I am finishing up my PhD in molecular biology and evolution very soon. Any chance of me landing a job there? We are Greek-Canadian though, is that ok? Any response will be appreciated.

I am seriously considering moving to Singapore. I am married with an 11 year old daughter. What is the pay range for someone like me? I ha...
