Has anyone applied for business grants?

Hey gang, I've been running a company since 2018 and I'm looking to pivot from consultancy and into AI. I've already started the process by taking on AI related projects, building a community and launching a YouTube channel. AI apps, video editing and subscription services are getting expensive and ...

The old emails will no longer work. Please use the feedback form on the ICA page (form.sg) to send your enquiry.
Can I use that to appeal rejections too? Thanks.

Re: Seeking Advice: PR Application Pending Beyond 6 Months

Is there an email for ICA because the last one I sent went to to an unmanned mailbox.

As for the OP's question - 11 months is strange. The longest I had to wait was 9 months (for a rejection. Weep).

Reach out to them on the MyICA app or call the number.

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

I do network with Singaporean entrepreneurs and they advised on the 'freelancer' bit. Apparently, its a common rejection. "Freelancer" has many negative connotations, amongst them, is the idea that income isn't steady. That makes you a credit risk. What you are is a managing director. I ran my own ...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

Another thing to consider: How much "gravitas" does your pte ltd have? For example, we incorporated a $2 company, then loaned the company a bunch of money, which meant a great bank balance. After a while, business was good and we paid ourselves back but always kept a healthy balance. Second, we had...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

Years ago Citi Singapore approved a credit card with a credit limit that was lower than I had more than 5 years before that in India (after the currency conversion). I had a yearly salary that was over 100k then! That wasn't my first card - I already had a DBS card. So anyway, I canceled immediatel...

Re: PR application - here we go!

PR rejection isn't the frustration. The frustration comes from people I know who have PR and don't even care, have no plan to have kids (even though they said they would on the application), or don't even live in Sg. I know a couple of PR guys who live in JB and work in Sg. What good is that to Sg?...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

Your salary bracket seems alright for cc, i guess locals banks are very conservative. I agree to try foreign banks- Maybank, China bank, Citi, SC. I'm not sure it makes any difference because I've been rejected by OCBC and SC. I was even rejected by Trust Bank (weep). Ill give Maybank and Citi a sh...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

Where do you keep your business bank account? Do you keep a decent amount of $$$ in it? You should consider seeking a personal credit card from your business bank, and if they are unwilling to do it, threaten to move to a bank that will. I use DBS Ideal and the account is liquid but it doesn't make...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

Thinking back on my first credit card, it was with DBS where I had a current account for several years and they had a history of my income being deposited to said account. Seems like they started me off with a very small credit limit, but that is how I started building my credit as an EP holder. I ...

Re: Struggling to get a credit card!

I'm the opposite; I don't want a credit card. But wherever and whenever I open a bank account, they insist on give me a credit card. The best part: I toss them in the drawer, never to see the light of day, yet they still kena scam online purchases...  I'd love to be in your shoes!

Have you tried Citi, Amex, CIMB?... I have a feeling that foreign banks are more open to dealing with foreigners...
I haven't purely because Standard Chartered (SC)and OCBC have the best cards. SC has 1% cash back on all purchases with no minimum spend. Its amazing.

Ill look into it though.
