donating clothing and food?

Hi team --

I'm leaving Singapore after a year. I have a lot of clothing to donate. Does anyone know any good organizations that will take it?

Similarly, how about all my leftover canned food?

Thanks!

doctor/phsyical therapist for runner's knee

My wife has what the internet seems to think is "runner's knee." Can anyone recommend a good doctor and/or physical therapist who can help her with this? Someone in the Novena and/or CBD area would be best, but we'll take any advice. Thanks!

My wife has the EP, I have a DP. Her company has not purchased any insurance for her. We now have NTUC insurance, but that wasn't in effect during her procedure (fibroid removal surgery). That surgery cost us $12000 out of pocket, and now we're hoping to recoup that cost somehow.

Thanks!

taxes and medical expenses

Hi there,

My wife and I are here on a EP/DP visa. In the last couple of months, we've had significant medical expenses (12k+) that was not covered by insurance. Does anyone know if these expenses are tax deductible, or if there's any way to recoup some of the costs?

Thanks!

I should have taken your advice and created a private limited to begin with. :)

I thought having a nominee director was a requirement of a Pvt Ltd? Or, less specifically, that a Pvt Ltd requires somebody from Singapore or a PR to be involved?

Hi guys -- I am the original poster for this question. So, you need to ask MOM if you convert your successful business into a private limited company, will they grant you an EP, and under what conditions? For example, you might temporarily need a nominee director who could apply for your EP. It soun...

revenue question: sole proprietorship

Hi there,

I'm running a sole proprietorship here. I do consulting services for ad agencies. I have a simple question: is it better for me to keep my revenue within the company account, or transfer it immediately to my personal account as salary? In terms of taxes, which makes more sense?

Japanese/Asian pop culture shops?

I'm looking for the shops that sell the bizarre Japanese/Asian pop culture things, like bacon keychains or Super Mario mushroom pillows or Domo dolls or stuffed poops or manga backscratchers. I've found one or two shops here or there, but is there any particular store/mall that is known for having a...
