If you are considering making a bank transfer after you get an account set up in Singapore, make sure that your bank will let you do it remotely. The bank I use in the USA will not allow that--I have to go to an office in person.

Thanks. That seems a bit far from where I will be working, but that is part of the problem--I can't really judge travel times since I have not spent much time in Singapore. How long do you think it would take by bus? From looking at the route map, the MRT does not seem like a good option from there....

I am nowhere near the point of contacting an agent yet. I am not even sure I am coming to Singapore--I'm trying to get information to help me make that decision.
