I'm staying near Orchard and a few I know of nearby are: * JWT Kids Gym at UE Square (Robertson Quay). I think it's $50 to join and then you can get 5 sessions for $50. Google JWT Kids Gym to see the free play times. * Royce Kids Gym at Liang Court Shopping Centre, opposite Fort Canning Park. $50 pe...

Taxi with kids : Ride Safer vest or alternatives?

I am racked with fear and guilt every time my 4 and 2 year olds travel unrestrained in taxis. (Well, on my and my husband's laps with the seatbelt around their waists. Which is probably just as, or more, dangerous than simply being held...) I'd rather use proper car seats but it's hard enough gettin...

Guilty of that one too - have even accepted ELC balloons for fractious kids and then left without buying.

By the way, if you're after toys there's a wonderful shop in Tanglin Mall near Starbucks. Just look for the window filled with rocking horses and dolls houses...

Hello Oliver, I'm in a similar position to your wife: recently relocated; two young kids; no routine; husband working long hours. While we've enjoyed seeing kid-friendly tourist attractions, now I just want some scheduled weekly activities so that I don't have to plan things for every day of the wee...

Dear Local 2009, Thank you for your recommendation. Much appreciated. I've had a look at the website and will visit this week to find out more. Dear Angelina, Thanks for your suggestion, too. I've had a look at the link you sent and would be keen to hear what you thought when you visited. I've found...

Play-based nursery 2 in central area?

My daughter is 4 years old. She's two years from starting school in Australia so I'm looking for a nursery that has a play-based rather than academic style curriculum. The centres I've spoken to said she'd be in Nursery 2 where kids learn to read, write, speak Mandarin, do maths and learn to use com...

I don't think the spa offers free treatments but I'm looking into it for you - haven't had time off from kids to try it myself! There are signs in public places about the free family zoo pass so I think that's definitely still on offer. It's hard making a decision based on so many varied reviews. My...

I can't comment on the Asian breakfast selection, I'm sorry. It's there, but I haven't tried it. Perhaps you could ask Fraser Place if they serve the same things at both sites... The western breakfast has a decent selection of cereals, breads, cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee, juice. T...

Hello, I just wanted to offer an opinion on the Fraser serviced apartments. I'm staying at Fraser Suites but was at Fraser Place the other day and asked to take a look around in case we wanted to move between them. I decided I'm happy to stay at Fraser Suites for the following reasons: The indoor pl...

Hi Steph,
I've just moved here from Australia too, with two girls aged 21 months and just-turned-4.
I am dying for some adult conversation and my kids need other kids to play with. We're not far from Orchard Road.
If you want to catch up let me know!

Regards,
Kate

Have you tried Great World City serviced apartments?
Apparently they allow pets. Not sure how big their apartments are, though.

Part time childcare near Fraser Suites, River Valley Rd

Is it possible to get childcare for just one, or maybe two, days a week? I want my kids to have contact with other kids and I want one day off a week! Are there centres that offer this or do most childcare centres offer only 5-day a week care? We are staying at Fraser Suites, River Valley Road and I...
