I'm just a dirty foreigner not a PR but it's definitely very unfair that it is ONLY men that are responsible to devote 2 years. I don't see why women could not serve in the Army, Air Force or Navy. That or allow both men and women to choose to serve their country in some other way for two years. May...

How many email accounts do you need? If you only need <5 accounts or even <20 or so there's other options you could consider. My previous company tried two different "exchange killers" open-xchange and scalix and I wasn't very impressed with either. Also no offence to anyone but running a exchange s...

I signed up with Starhub about a month a go. I get 100 mins (per sec billing) 500 SMS 1 GB traffic $30 a month. It's a month to month contract which was perfect as I already had my phone O2 Germany. So you don't get a subsidized phone but if you're moving here with one it's great. Ask them about it,...

One was a problem powering up the screen forget exactly what the other the screen was FUBAR both out of warranty. It's a pretty lucrative business, buy/repair certain models take a ...

x9200 yeah I'm from Canada so I'm used to stuff being arbitrarily higher than American prices. It's just funny how many tourists from America might come here to pay more money for the same camera "because they heard they're cheap here" Makes you giggle :D going to go to Funan and check out the shops...

She is recently graduated with her masters and yeah unless the locals are fluent in Polish or Norwegian or whatever other Eu...

I've bought a dell for myself a few years ago (massive 17" sucker) and one for my lady. My HD started to fail within about a month or two on my 17" but was quickly replaced by Dell and no problems since *knock on wood*. Gf's Dell had a bad nvdia graphics card which was written about extensively and ...

When my current place had a Singtel tech out he mentioned that the government here restricts the strength/power of wireless router signals here much lower than they could operate at. When I pointed out where my room was he really didn't think the signal would reach but it did just fine. If you are a...

Hey hey I'm from BC myself. What industry are you working in and how much are you being paid? If under $4k a month that might be a bit rough. Most grads from Singapore start around $2-2.5 it seems but travelling around the world to earn that oh boy. Anyway if you ever want to go out for beers and co...

I have been staying above a shop house in Geylang that is nicely renovated. It was overpriced imho and pretty noisy but fine other than that. If you want privacy it could be a good deal. I am paying $950 a month + PUB for private studio apartment with bathroom but only a fridge and microwave as far ...

If you emailed him at all you can google show email headers for whatever web or mail program you use. Then you can try seeing where he sent the emails from. And if it's from India or Nigeria yeah it's total BS :)

Hey thanks X9200, yeah I think we wound up in one of the reputable stores in the end. I see that there's not GST or duty on anything under $400 SGD so I still might go that route but I will scour ClubSNAP. Also by reputable stores that mean a good price, or just good service and honest sales staff? ...
